Brownie Monkey Trifle

My challenge: some left-over brownies and some pieces of orange cake from last time. They tasted too scrumptious to be left in the dustbin as gala dinner for those lucky ants;-P So I had an idea to make the most of it, ideally for the small ones, or the "young at heart" ones:-)
My rich brownies cut into small cubes
Orange syrup butter cake cut into small cubes or dices
1 tablespoon strawberry jam or marmalade
  • Lay orange syrup butter cake in the glass as the first layer. Then spread the strawberry jam on top of the cake surface. Add in brownies as the second layer. Pour in dark chocolate ganache over the brownies. Serve with cool whipped cream topper and decorate with Hershey's Kisses-White chocolate,  M&M chocolate (with almond) candies and the hunkie-monkey, of course!!!:-)
For Dark chocolate ganache:
30 g dark chocolate (70% plus)
2 tablespoons whipping cream
10 g unsalted butter

  • Melt the chocolate and whipping cream in a small saucepan over a pan of boiling water, until smooth and completely dissolved.Remove from heat. Add in butter into the chocolate mixture and stir for 1 minute or until dissolved. Set aside.

For Whipped cream:
3 tablespoons whipping cream
1 teaspoons icing sugar
1-2 drops Vanilla extract
a tiny pinch of salt
  • Pour the whipping cream in a bowl. Add in sugar, salt and vanilla extract. Using a balloon whisk or electric beater, beating the mixture together until you get soft peaks. Let the whipped cream cool in the fridge for 5 minutes before serving.
Isn't it cute? :-) a glass for two!
I made some swirls on top of the whipped cream
with the remaining chocolate ganache:-)
