Burmese Migrant Children & their ditch-fishing time! |
I love April as it allows us to be together for annual family gathering during Traditional Thai New Year's Celebrations (or "Songkran", which takes place on 13-15 April each year). My journey started earlier on April 4th, as we departed from S/W Andaman coast of Thailand, heading to Petchburi province where my mom's residence is nestled.

This beautiful boy proudly showed me his beautiful blue fish, caught from the ditch:-) |

Look what I found at a petrol station where roadsters can enjoy a glass of refreshing juice, iced tea & coffee as well as snacks:-) |

boiling watery sweet palm juice |

Palm sugar is originally made from the sugary sap of the Palmyra palm, or sugar date palm which are abundant in Petchburi Province as well as in its neighbouring central provinces. |
My top objective, besides family reunion, is to visit as many ancient temples as I can because I am obsessed with ancient architecture, mural painting, decoration as well as sculpture:-) Most of ancient temples in central provinces had been built during Ayuddhaya Era. They were renovated during King Rama V's reign or on around 2452 B.E. The first temple where I had an opportunity to pay a visit & making merits: The Reclining Buddha Temple, Petchburi Province.

See how beautiful Thai sculpture is... I could not capture the whole body of the reclining Buddha statue ... So the head and the feet parts should be just fine to show you how enormous & marvelous it is:-) |
